I ordered this “EveryDrop by Whirlpool” water filter for my Whirlpool 4door fridge, model# WRX735SDB. I wanted to include the model # & make of my fridge, because I get frustrated with reviewers who don’t give complete information. The reason for MY review is to, hopefully, inform someone else in making a correct decision for their particular refrigerator.
PROS: This IS the correct filter for my model fridge.
The pckg has changed; don’t be afraid of that.
This filter was NEW & in retail packaging. Sealed properly & non tampered.
The water, after 1 1/2 gals. (192oz.), was INCREDIBLY CLEAR!! It didn’t even look that clear with the original filter. This is the first time that I’ve had to change the filter. My fridge is EXACTLY 5 mos. old. I can’t wait to taste the water.
The pckg. claims to filter a LONG LIST of chemicals & debris. I’ve included pics of the original filter removed, showing carbon particulates at the top of the filter. This new filter had NO carbon particulates loose when I removed the foil seal.
CONS: I’ve included a picture of the ORIGINAL filter that claims to filter ” 300 gals. of
water at the 0.78gpm. The NEW filter only filters 200 gals. at 0.78gpm!
If the old filter lasted 5 mos. filtering 300 gals., will the NEW filter ONLY last
4 mos. at 200 gals?!! Ok, it SEEMS to filter better, but lasting less & paying the
same $$$?!!
Anyway, those are my observations so far. Although the water was crystal clear after 1 1/2 gals., I followed the manual directions of clearing the new filter using 4 gals. of water.
Also, the old filter was REALLY DIFFICULT to remove! THEN, apparently, I didn’t secure the new filter well, because when I went to dispense water, it made this AWFUL grinding noise & no water came out. I had to remove the NEW filter AGAIN ( which was a ROYAL PAIN!) and try again! I got it right the second time.
So BE CAREFUL! TEST IT OUT after installing.
I don’t like the fact that this filter will filter less gallons than the original, but if I can’t find a better option, at least it is OEM. I’ve included some pictures of the type of refrigerator that I have, old filter, new filter & packaging.
I hope this review helps someone else with my model fridge.

We are on a well and get great tasting water for about 4 months. When the ice maker stops making ice we know the filter needs to be changed. Delivery on the other hand was awe full. Product was left on the ground next to the road near our mailbox, not in the mailbox per the driver comment.

I have never had a problem before. This filter arrived in early November as per my subscription. It was early but that was not their fault. I just replaced it in my fridge and now my water and ice tastes horrible. I followed all the instructions and ran the amount of water suggested. Not sure why this happened. Turning to figure out how to have it replaced.

Let’s face it, no one LOVES when the 6-month mark is up and you’ve got to re-purchase your fridge water filter but it’s a small price to pay for filtered, clean, and safe water.
We found it was more cost-effective to order this filter on Amazon rather than pick it up at our local hardware store. As promised, it’s compatible with our fridge, the water is crystal clear and we love the easy install process!

Delivered, a well packaged item to prevent damage. Looked at the refrigerator manual in order to unhinge the housing for the filter. Removed the old filter, by turning counterclockwise, inserted the new filter and turned it clockwise to tighten. Check for leaks. Reinstalled the protective housing. Installation Complete. Very Simple!. Only drawback is the print on the package and filer is tiny.

There is a degree of relief in knowing that you have done what you can to improve the quality of the water that you are drinking. I know our Town ‘has good tap water’, so they tell us, but taking extra steps to try to improve it is never a bad thing. It is cheaper to buy a good water filter for our refrigerator, than it is to buy bottled water and deal with the plastic bottles. I am happy with it and have zero complaints.

The Everydrop by Whirlpool Ice and Water Refrigerator Filter gives us peace of mind knowing that contaminants are being removed from our water.
